I was working when I got hit. I do lawn care and was on the curb blowing leaves back onto the grass of a property. Most of the cars that passed me moved slowly out of my way. But then I saw a white car speeding down the hill, and the last thing I saw before I got hit was the back of her cell phone held up. She was on her phone.
She hit me on my right side so hard, it spun me around and knocked the blower off my back, which is pretty heavy. She ran over my foot, my knee hit her panel, and my hand hit her side mirror, which shattered everywhere. Thank goodness the person driving behind her was an EMT, who helped me. He also confirmed that she was on her phone when she tried to deny it.
I had to get Medivacked to a local hospital. I had no feeling in my hand or foot, and had a condition called frozen shoulder. I had to wear a neck brace and spend nine months in physical therapy. I had decided when I was in the hospital bed on that first or second day that I was going to call Allen & Allen. Their commercial came on while I was in the hospital.
Now, this was my first ever lawsuit and when I first talked to Scott and Rachel, I told them I needed them to explain everything to my wife and I simply. It took less than two weeks, but we had total trust in them. Scott would still defer to me and ask me what I thought, and I trusted him so much, I would say, “Whatever you think is best.” In fact, at times, he thought that we could aim a little higher and do better, and he was always right.
Even my wife was blown away by how easy Scott and Rachel made everything. They made it all easy to understand, they always checked in. I was able to recover while they did the work. It was an amazing, positive experience.
