At 3:45 a.m., the 20-year-old defendant was driving his new Ford F-150 while drunk. He was traveling 70 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone on Rt. 629, when he drove directly into the side of the plaintiff’s van as she pulled away from a stop sign. The impact was so great that the van turned over several times and threw the plaintiff outside of the vehicle onto the road.
