Auto Collision: $120,000

Location: Petersburg, Virginia
Verdict: 120,000

Our client was driving in Hopewell when she was struck on the passenger side of her vehicle by the defendant, who had failed to stop at the stop sign. The impact forced her Jeep Renegade to jump the curb and strike a house.

Though the airbags deployed, she suffered significant injuries and needed to be taken to a local hospital via ambulance. She was treated for contusions to the head, neck, and lower legs. She also experienced abdominal soreness and a headache. She was treated for a tendon in her thumb that slipped out of its normal position, which caused pain, swelling, and limited mobility.

She was homebound in recovery for two weeks, and had to forgo an anniversary vacation due to these injuries. When the trial took place in Peterburg, the jury sided with the plaintiff (our client) and was awarded $120,000 in damages.
