Last Friday, Allen & Allen celebrated their Hometown Heroes yet again, with a party at the Fredericksburg Nationals Stadium!
The biggest perk was allowing the Hometown Heroes onto the field for the first pitch. As they were called onto the diamond, the stadium commentator mentioned each Hero by name, and listed their accomplishments. Friends and family on the Sky Porch gave a thundering applause, along with the crowd. Natalie Jenkins, Jason Tickle, Karen Coppage, and John & Leslie Leahy all wound up and pitched at first base.
As the Fredericksburg Nationals played the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, party guests had a front-row view of all the action. The bartender served cold drinks to keep guests cool, and everyone feasted on hot dogs, burgers, chips, homemade potato salad, and gluten-free cookies!
Even a summer storm didn’t stop the players, and guests enjoyed the cool breeze and dramatic lightning storms in the distance – all from the safety of the covered Sky Porch. Like all Hometown Hero events, the highlight of the evening was getting to meet these inspiring Virginians face-to-face, and hearing their stories about what motivates them to give back.
We look forward to our final event at The Diamond in Richmond, just a couple of weeks away!
