Cordelia from North Carolina

I was driving up I-95 going toward Ft. Belvoir. There was a clear “Merge” sign in my lane, and I was going about 5 miles an hour. Some man who wasn’t paying attention was coming up from the highway at about 60 miles per hour!

I looked at the car ahead of me, and saw they had a baby in the back seat. I had a split second and knew I didn’t want to be pushed into them, so I jerked my car to the left and pressed on my brakes. I only tapped them a bit. Thankfully they weren’t hurt, and I am grateful to be alive.

The ambulance came. The seat belt tightened hard around me, and I had pain in my stomach. I had a hernia in my stomach, and then they found a hernia in my groin at the hospital. I had surgery for that, though it’s not clear if the hernias were caused by the accident or not. I also had a lot of pain in my neck and back, and had to go to physical therapy for it. I’m so stiff, I can barely move my neck to the left or right. I can’t pick up my 40-pound child without pain, and I can’t do my job as a primary care aid.

Allen & Allen was amazing when I came to them for help. They respond well. If they don’t get back to you that day, they will text you to say they are in a meeting or what not, and let you know when they will get back to you. Jouya and his legal assistant Yesly answered all my questions, they were polite and very personable.

And if you keep it real with Jouya, he will keep it real with you. At one point, I was financially frustrated because I couldn’t work, and just ready to settle. Jouya told me that we should aim higher, and we did. I ended up getting all that I deserved.
