Our plaintiff was operating his work van when he was rear-ended by the defendant. He sustained a severe injury to his neck. At first, it was assumed he suffered soft tissue damage, but when physical therapy didn’t improve his condition, an MRI revealed cervical trauma. Our client needed surgery.
His pain was severe, and he experienced numbness traveling down his left arm. To treat this trauma, he received a multi-level surgery called an Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion (ACDF), which removes damaged or herniated discs and fuses the vertebrae above and below it. Due to complications from this six-level surgical procedure, our client remained in the hospital for 10 days, and still experiences discomfort.
Attorney Eric Speer was able to secure $1,130,000 in damages to ensure that his client has the best possible outcome on his journey back to health.
